Prototyping– One of the most challenging stages for large fixture package manufactures is prototyping. Larger manufactures are typically setup for large volumes of complete fixture packages with several, even dozens of skus in a package. Prototyping is often included as a value-add, but the reality is that it adversely impacts production ultimately leading to higher costs and longer lead-times. The Job Shop is setup to produce prototypes more quickly, and at a lower cost when factoring in engineering, stop/start production, and production delays on orders.
Component Manufacturing– Another challenge for larger manufactures is managing countless components in the fixture packages of multiple client projects going on simultaneously. Often times a client is left searching for alternative suppliers, and even pushing back dates because a larger manufacture naturally has to ramp up for increased demand during peak months which is no easy task, particularly in todays labor market. Instead of pushing the limits, The Job Shop offers a buffer to manufacturers, by shouldering some of the component manufacturing that can make or break the success of a project.
Short/Long-Run Rollouts– Similar to prototyping short run orders can take a toll on large manufacturers production lines. The Job Shop can produce short runs as well as higher quantity runs of individual skus. This capability lends itself to both retail and manufacture partners. Often times promotional and seasonal roll-outs are time sensitive, and retailers will lean on their larger manufactures to jump through hoops over already busy schedules. In these situations, we can handle this directly with the end user, or give a manufacture the support they need not to have to decline the order, or worse pay so much overtime that their profitability overall suffers.
Commerical/Tenant Interiors– The Job Shop is a great partner for commercial & construction clients where it might be difficult to find a cost competitive provider of architectural millwork, metal work, commercial cabinets, and other finish out needs. Most of our work in this area comes from the referral of designers who’ve called on us in the past to fulfill a particular vision of theirs successfully. While we love this type of project as a matter of balancing out repeating items, we do currently limit ourselves to the DFW Metroplex ensuring that if challenges come up in the field, whether it’s change orders or damages in shipping, we have the ability to respond quickly to help reduce project and trade delays.
Sourcing– Whether it’s raw materials, equipment, or finished goods, The Job Shop has access to a multitude of products and external partners both domestically and internationally to support manufactures, general contractors, and end users alike.
